Sounds from the City interrogates the sociopolitical dimensions of sound. Taking Amman as its point of departure, the work archives sonic experiences that evoke the myriad politica social and economic transformations unfolding within this urban context. Sounds that fade or vanish come to signify acts of destruction and erasure, highlighting the impact of sound on our bodies and memory. Silence is depicted as a presence that has a history and a form.

أصوات من المدينة يستكشف الأبعاد الاجتماعية والسياسية للصوت. يأخذ العمل عمان كنقطة انطلاق، و يقوم بأرشفة تجارب صوتية تستحضر التحولات السياسية والاجتماعية والاقتصادية التي تتجلى في هذا السياق الحضري. الأصوات تتلاشى أو تختفي في إشارة إلى حالات من التدمير والمحو، و بذلك يتم تسليط الضوء على تأثير الصوت على أجسامنا وذاكرتنا، و يظهر الصمت كوجود له تاريخ وشكل.
